Everything That’s Happened Since the Illuminate Arrived

After halting the Meridian Singularity’s advance, Helldivers across the galaxy celebrated with parades and ceremonial armor. But the victory was short-lived. What was believed to be a black hole turned out to be something far worse: a wormhole.

The so-called “Great Host” emerged from the Meridian Singularity in full force, revealing the Illuminate’s true plan all along, to invade Super Earth. Their fleet tore through our forward defenses, towards the Heart of Democracy.

The Campaign Begins

After the inevitable fall of Widow’s Harbor, Pilen V, and New Haven, the DSS (Democracy Space Station) was deployed to bolster our defense. But it was immediately met with hostile countermeasures and took critical damage. The crew was forced to initiate an emergency warp, suffering many casualties before completing the warp. Though disabled, the DSS survived.

With the Illuminate advancing rapidly, Mars was scorched and razed, obliterating the Helldiver training facilities there.

The stage was finally set. The Battle for Super Earth had begun.

Kill 2.5 Billion Illuminate

The first major order was simple: obliterate the enemy. Helldivers were tasked with thinning out the invading fleet by killing 2.5 billion Illuminate.

During this Major Order, Eagles were being fired upon by hostile spacecraft, increasing their cooldowns by 30 seconds until countermeasures could be developed. Also, the M-105 Stalwart was temporarily issued to all Helldivers.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. Eagleopolis, “a shining symbol of Super Earth’s consumer might” was the first Mega City to fall. The Major Order was successfully completed within the timeframe.

Hold the Mega Cities

With Eagleopolis lost, the next Major Order was to hold the remaining cities at all costs.

Despite the Shield Generator Relay being made available to all Helldivers, the Illuminate’s offensive was too strong. Mega City: Administrative Center 02 fell next, followed shortly by Mega City: Remembrance. The losses were devastating.

In response, Super Defense Protocol Sapphire was activated, converting rainforests into emergency Eagle airstrips and restoring faster cooldowns to air support. But it wasn’t enough, the Major Order was failed and only four Mega Cities remained.

Repair the DSS (Side Objective)

To turn the tide, the DSS needed to be brought back online. But resources were scarce.

To fully restore it, Helldivers were instructed to dismantle 200,000,000 Automatons. It was a desperate diversion in the middle of an all-out invasion. But against all odds, we succeeded. The DSS was fully repaired and warped back to Super Earth, just in time for the final battle.

Hold Super Earth (Finale)

This is the endgame.

Only two Mega Cities remain, Prosperity City and Equality-On-Sea. With the Illuminate fleet now reduced to just 11.6% of its strength, the final push is underway.

To aid in the defense, Super Defense Protocols Diamond and Ruby have been activated. All Helldivers on Super Earth are now armed with the Fast Recon Vehicle and Orbital Napalm Barrage. Penalties to Eagle rearm times, ammo loads, and stim capacity have been reversed.

We have two days to survive. If both cities fall, it’s over. But if even one remains standing, democracy will have prevailed, though it will be a pyrrhic victory bought with immeasurable sacrifice.

Hold the line, Helldivers. The fate of Super Earth is in your hands.

Defend Fort Union to Damage the Illuminate (Side Objective)

STRATEGIC OPPORTUNITY – A former satellite technician on Fort Union has successfully developed malware capable of disabling Illuminate technology. Long-range satellites on the planet are rapidly being outfitted to transmit the code to Illuminate spacecraft. Successful transmission could deal significant damage to the Illuminate Fleet.
