Caitlyn is countered by mobility. You can look to take winning trades while she overextends. This is especially true if her is on cooldown and there are no traps to stop you.

Caitlyn needs to have vision on you in order to ult. While you're low, be careful of taking a greedy recall in enemy vision and giving the enemy Caitlyn a cheap way back into the game.

Caitlyn has great siege and range and wants to fight a front to back teamfight. Finding a flank and diving her is a great way to counter Caitlyn and take her out of teamfights.

Caitlyn will outrange you and push you in. Because of this, Caitlyn will frequently be overextended in lane. Try to stay healthy so your jungler can gank and counter Caitlyn when she overextends.

Caitlyn has certain spots she likes to place her traps where you can't see them. Counter Caitlyn by not walking in the blind spot behind your turret and not facechecking the lane bushes.

A good Caitlyn will lay a trap underneath you if you get cc'ed by some other ability and output a ton of extra damage. Be extra cautious if the enemy support has cc in their kit, like Morgana or Lux does.
