What is a Warbond?
Warbonds in Helldivers 2 are similar to battle passes from other games, but they don’t become unavailable when new ones are released. The game launched with two Warbonds: “Helldivers Mobilize” and “Steeled Veterans.”
Helldivers Mobilize is included with the base version of the game, and if you bought the Super Citizen Edition of the game, you’ll receive the Steeled Veterans Warbond and some shiny golden armor and a unique SMG.
In total, there are currently 5 Premium Warbonds:
- Steeled Veterans
- Cutting Edge
- Democratic Detonation
- Polar Patriots
- Viper Commandos
Premium Warbonds can be purchased with Super Credits, costing 1,000 credits each. After purchasing a Warbond, you must earn Medals by completing missions to unlock the new items. Super Credits can be found in-game and also earned by completing Warbonds, or purchased with real money.
Focus on Helldivers Mobilize first
Since Helldivers Mobilize is included in the base game and features some fantastic weapons, armors, and boosters, you should focus on unlocking most of the weapons and armor in this Warbond first. Check out our Primary weapons tier list to see which Mobilize weapons to unlock first.
Which Premium Warbond should you get first?
Steeled Veterans is arguably one of the best Warbonds in the game. The Incendiary Breaker stands out as the top anti-bug Primary weapon, and the P-4 Senator revolver Secondary not only offers high damage output but also features Medium Armor Penetrating rounds, making it a fun and powerful choice.
Additionally, the Servo Assisted armors included in this Warbond boost Limb Health and Throwing range, enhancing how far out you can throw Eagle and Orbital Stratagems.
A close second is the Cutting Edge Warbond, primarily due to the LAS-16 Sickle and Stun Grenades. The LAS-16 Sickle is an energy-based assault rifle with unlimited ammo, provided you manage your fire rate. Stun Grenades, when paired with stratagems, can quickly neutralize Hulks, Chargers, and large groups of Bugs and Bots.
Once you’ve unlocked Steeled Veterans and Cutting Edge, you’ll find some enjoyable weapons in the newer Warbonds, but Steeled Veterans should be your top priority.
