Helldivers 2 is coming to Xbox on August 26th, finally bringing the big three platforms into the fight for democracy.
The trailer plays “Boom” by POD and shows us plenty of bot, bug, and squid killing action to go along with the soundtrack. While the trailer doesn’t show anything that isn’t already released in game, it does have a teaser at the end.
If you’ve ever played Halo 3: ODST, you may be familiar with the “Deference for Darkness” soundtrack, also known as the “New Mombasa Suite”. At 1:10 in the trailer, it cuts to a rainy scene from one of Super Earth’s Mega Cities and plays the iconic soundtrack while a single Hellpod is called down.
The comment section is absolutely hyped about the possibility of an ODST crossover now.
And some are hoping it may be a launch day crossover. It’s not outside the realm of possibility, especially since we already had a Killzone Crossover event with PlayStation, and ODST would definitely fit well into the Helldivers universe.
Although definitely not a confirmation of a crossover, the Xbox YouTube channel replied to the ODST deploying comment, saying “Yeah, buddy!”
