Helldivers 2, which originally launched in February last year for PC and PS5, is officially coming to Xbox.
After over a year of memes, jokes, and running gags about how “Xbox reinforcements were standing by,” it’s finally happening. Even the new trailer leans into it, declaring, “Now more than ever, we need more Helldivers!”
For those unfamiliar with the game, Helldivers 2 is a 4-player co-op third-person shooter with full cross-play (although unfortunately no cross-progression), pitting you against several alien factions that are trying to conquer Super Earth’s territories and planets. You’ll play as a Helldiver, an elite fighting force that loves to use overwhelming firepower to take out the enemy. We’re talking orbital barrages from your very own Super Destroyer, massive Eagle 500KG Bombs, as well as Mini-Nukes and Hellbombs. And by the way, friendly fire is enabled, so watch where you’re aiming those grenades.
For those of us already in the fight, we couldn’t be more excited to see Xbox players finally drop in.
