With the recently released Killzone 2 Crossover Event, Helldivers 2 has dropped 3 new primary weapons to expand our Arsenal: the StA-11 SMG, the premium StA-52 Assault Rifle, and the PLAS-39 Accelerator Rifle, the first weapon of its kind.
The PLAS-39 functions similarly to the PLAS-101 Purifier, but with a key difference: it fires in 3-round bursts, dealing an extra 150 damage per shot. While its 9-shot magazine is only slightly smaller than the Purifier’s, its burst-fire mode makes it significantly less ammo efficient.
Equipped with a 200m scope, the PLAS-39 excels at taking out targets from a distance, providing precision and power in long-range engagements.
While the PLAS-39 is undeniably cool, we find the Diligence Counter Sniper to be a superior choice for mid-to-long range fights, and the Purifier is much better in close-to-mid range fights. That said, the PLAS-39 is still a fun weapon to experiment with and adds variety to your arsenal, and hopefully it’s not the last Sniper Rifle Primary they add to the game.
