Early Game
In the early stages of the game, try to conserve gold and build up your economy. If your board is weak on 2-1, try to lose streak and save HP. If you are strong (many upgraded units), you can push levels to maintain win streak. This comp centers around many 4 cost units, so the goal is to hit level 8 with as much gold/hp as possible.
Mid Game
On 3-2, make sure you level to 6 to keep up with the lobby. If you are sitting on a bunch of pairs, roll once or twice to see if you can hit the upgrade. If you are still lose streaking, make sure you don’t take major losses that would put you to low health before getting to your power spike. To add to this, make sure you’re using items and that they aren’t just sitting on your bench. While Heimerdinger really wants blue buff, his other 2 slots are more flexible. As far as tank items go, any combination of health + resists will suffice.
**in the example board, Sett + Akali are added to give bruiser and rebel along with the 4 Visionaries. If you hit early Heimerdinger or Elise, you can play them instead.
Late Game
On 4-2 (ideally) you want to level to 8 and roll down to hit your units. Hitting Heimerdinger 2* and Elise 2* are crucial to the strength of this composition. If you have a Visionary emblem, going to level 9 for 8 Visionary is very strong with Malzahar.
