The Exalted trait in Set 11 has defined a new way for players to pilot the early and mid game, and even for establishing end game boards – the team-wide damage bonus in exchange for unit quality is often worth the trade off depending on the Exalted unit.

Exalted Guide Walkthrough
Always check which units are Exalted at the beginning of the game (there is an indicator bottom-right to check) and prioritize holding them. If there are more than two 4-cost Exalted units, then there should almost be a consideration to play them on your endgame boards.
In this case, we can establish Kai’sa as our main carry and Galio as our main tank. For our 3rd Exalted, we often want to play a supporting unit – in this case, Janna (shields) and Shen (flat damage reduction) are good candidates because an unitemized Yone will achieve nothing during combat.
After picking our core 3 units, the next step is to find missing links without sacrificing unit quality. We can first start by supporting the traits of our main carries.
4) Xayah – Trickshot, Dragonlord
5) Riven – Storyweaver, Bruiser
After prioritizing our carry traits, we can start looking for missing links and easy breakpoints. An obvious one for this example is adding in a Storyweaver unit for 3 Storyweaver, which also allows us to slot in Lee Sin for Duelist and 3 Dragonlord.
6) Irelia – Storyweaver, Duelist
7) Lee Sin – Dragonlord, Duelist
So on and so forth, you’ll soon realize there are many units to slot in. A rule to keep in mind is to avoid middle trait breakpoints (i.e. 5 Storyweaver). Usually, it is not worth the lower unit quality and fundamentally, TFT is balanced around trait splashes and not chasing higher breakpoints.
