Early Game

In the early stages of the game, play around Black Rose units or Visionaries. Vex is a good item holder- make sure that she is positioned near the center to maximize her spell damage.

Note: If you manage to start with a Black Rose opener (either a Cassiopeia or black rose emblem, or even both) then you can look to play your strongest board and push early levels for a winstreak.

Mid Game

On 3-2, make sure you level to 6 to keep up with the lobby. If you are sitting on a bunch of pairs, roll once or twice to see if you can hit the upgrade. If you are still lose streaking, make sure you don’t take major losses that would put you to low health before getting to your power spike. To add to this, make sure you’re using items and that they aren’t just sitting on your bench. While Heimerdinger really wants blue buff, his other 2 slots are more flexible. As far as tank items go, any combination of health + resists will suffice.

Late Game

On 4-2 (ideally) you want to level to 8 and roll down to hit your units. Hitting Heimerdinger 2 and Elise 2 are crucial to the strength of this composition. If you hit an early Leblanc or Malzahar, your board will be in a very strong spot and you can push for level 9. Otherwise, make sure you hit your Heimerdinger 2 before everyone else rolls down for Arcane’s resident professor.

Note: On your rolldown, Jayce and Garen are also really good splash units that can tide you over until you hit Elise. If you have an extra team slot from an emblem/augment/level 10, Jayce is the premier add in.
