Arcanist Sylas is a strategy that should be played with an AP item start, economy augments, and a decently strong early game board. This board requires having enough health and gold to reach Level 8 at stage 4-2 to roll for 2* Jarvan IV, 2* Garen and 2* Lux in order to fulfill Sylas’ unlock quest.

Early Game Overview

The early game board for this strategy is very flexible. Any upgraded front line tanks with an AP backline carry works well for this strategy. Since one of Sylas’ requirements includes the selling of a 2* Jarvan IV, it is recommended to play an early game board centered around his traits.

Prioritize mana generating items such as Blue Buff and Spear of Shojin as well as strong tank items such as Warmog’s Armor. Additionally, building items that apply Wound are not that important as Annie’s ability applies Burn and Wound.

Mid Game Overview

In the mid game, continue your win streak by playing upgraded units and slamming AP items.
To make the late game transition easier, it’s recommended to continue playing a board around Demacia and either an Arcanist or Invoker back line carry.

In terms of items, begin to prioritize tank items and an item that applies Shred such as Ionic Spark or Void Staff

Late Game Overview

Unlockable Units:

–Sylas: Sell a 2* Jarvan IV, 2* Garen, and 2* Lux
–Skarner: A non-tank with a Gargoyle’s Stoneplate equipped (optional unlockable unit if lobby is AD heavy)
–Galio: 12 unique star levels of Demacia (optional unlockable unit if you happen to natural multiple Demacia upgrades)

At Level 8 stabilize by rolling until you have an upgraded 4 cost tank (either Garen or Swain) and at least 1 copy of Lux. It’s also important to NOT roll until you have 0 gold, as this comp requires enough gold to reach Level 9 where you will roll for 2* Annie and Sylas.

After stabilizing, rebuild your economy and go to Level 9 on stage 5 for higher odds of finding 5 cost champions to cap out your board.
The final capped out board has a little bit of flexibility. Consider playing the following units depending on your lobby.
–Taric if your lobby is AP heavy
–Skarner if your lobby is AD heavy
–Fiddlesticks if you need more damage by shredding the enemy’s entire board
