Sentry Stratagem Tier List

Best sentry tier list for Helldivers 2 to annihilate all automatons and terminids in your path.

Sentries and Emplacements are fantastic at providing cover fire and thinning out heavy and lighter enemies alike, saving you precious ammo. Make sure you place them on high ground or at a safe distance away from enemies as they will target these Stratagems and they are easily destroyed. Also, place them safely, as your fellow Helldivers can be easily caught in a turret’s crossfire if you’re not careful.

Tip: All of the Sentries (besides the HMG Emplacement) have auto locking features, but the Mortar Sentries are unique because they do not need a line of sight to destroy enemies.

Note: Do not stand directly behind the Rocket Sentry as the blowback from firing will knock the player down, they are great for taking down Drop Ships though…

The Gatling, Machine Gun Sentry, and HMG Emplacement are better suited for Terminids and are a great option when there are multiple Bug Breaches occurring at the same time or if there is a large Nest that needs to be cleared.

The Autocannon and Rocket Sentry are better suited at taking out larger and more heavily armed enemies which makes them useful for both Terminids and Automatons. These Sentries have a significantly farther range than the Machine Gun Sentries and it is best to take advantage of that by placing them far from harms way.

The Mortar Sentry is a great option for placing outside of large enemy encampments to reduce their numbers before you and your fellow Helldivers push in. Be warned that it is a notorious teamkiller. If a Mortar Sentry is active don’t let any enemies get too close to you, or you might be a victim of the mortars indiscriminate dose of Democracy.

The Tesla Tower and Minefields are both useful for situations where a choke point stands between you and the enemy. Be warned that if you are not sporting armor with the Electric Conduit passive you will die to the Tesla Tower in one zap otherwise it will take 4 hits to kill a player.

The EMS Mortar Sentry has been found to be extremely effective on 15 Minute Blitz and Defensive Missions as it does a great job at slowing whole Bot Drops for you and your fellow Helldivers to take out. Place this down behind all other stratagems as a strict support fire tactic.

The Shield Generator Relay is only really useful against the Automatons. Terminids have a much higher tendency to swarm players and as soon as enemies walk through the barrier, the shield becomes more of a hazard than a help. Place this down a distance away from enemies as you pick them off.
