The Warbonds of the past have had some great themes: explosives, chemical warfare, and of course, fire. Lots and lots of fire.
But the newest Warbond is going full sci-fi. We’re talking laser sentries and volley guns, arc grenades, self-reviving armor, and a backpack that opens miniature wormholes (effectively allowing you to “blink”). If you’ve been waiting for Helldivers 2 loadouts to get a bit less terrestrial, this one’s for you.
The latest Warbond, Control Group, launches July 17 and it’s diving headfirst into experimental tech.
Weapons and Stratagems

VG-70 Variable
A seven-barreled volley gun with three firing modes:
- Auto (adjustable RPM)
- Volley (fires one shot per barrel)
- Total (fires everything left in one go)
Fair warning: using Total with a full mag may cause bodily harm. Sounds fun.

G-31 Arc Grenade
This lightweight grenade bounces and discharges electricity that shocks enemies and friendlies alike. Sounds almost like a bouncy shock charge from Warzone.

PLAS-45 Epoch
A plasma-based support weapon that charges and fires a focused sphere. Overcharging it can cause an explosion. No safety switch. And it looks like an oversized Purifier!

A/LAS-98 Laser Sentry
Standard ammo canisters have been swapped out for a massive heatsink, giving this sentry potentially infinite laser fire. However, in theme with the rest of this Warbond, it can explode if left firing too long.

LIFT-182 Warp Pack
The standout stratagem. This backpack creates a miniature wormhole that allows teleportation with no cooldown. You’ll dematerialize and rematerialize in a new location instantly.
Just know that it causes a little damage to the user, and repeated use destabilizes the wormhole. Totally worth it!

Armors and Passives
Two new armor sets are coming with Control Group:
- AD-26 Bleeding Edge (Medium Armor)
- AD-49 Apollonian (Heavy Armor)
Both feature a new passive: Adreno-Defibrillator. Upon death, your armor revives you to full health. But there’s a catch, it only works once, and you’ll start bleeding out after revival.
And it wouldn’t be a Warbond without a new emote, player card, and title.
- Protect Eardrums Emote
- “Exemplary Subject” Title
