The latest major order failed because not enough samples were collected from the bug homeworld, Oshaune, before the deadline. This is a sharp contrast to the previous major order involving samples, which was completed in just a few hours by cheaters. With hardcoded sample limits per session now in place, cheaters can no longer flood the system like before.

However, this also highlights how few players are actually collecting samples, even for major orders. Most veteran divers already have their level 5 ship module upgrades, and with the small limits for storing requisition slips and samples, there’s little incentive to farm them once all ship modules are unlocked, even for a major order.
Now we’re back on the defense
“Multiple Gloom-adjacent planets have come under heavy Terminid attack. Large swarms of Fascist insects have been reported descending upon several Federation-held planets, overwhelming SEAF defenses and eating innocent colonists.
There are worrying signs the Gloom itself may be expanding, for the first time since the end of its initial expansion.
There is no provocation for this attack. The Terminid Swarm have unilaterally violated the unspoken ceasefire between Gloom and non-Gloom territories.
The Helldivers are called to the immediate defense of all besieged planets. Be advised: there are unverified reports of mutated Terminid strains, previously confined to the Gloom, on the battlefield.
Holding these territories is likely critical to preventing further expansion of the Gloom. Do not allow this infestation to propagate further into our Galaxy.“
The current major order is to defend against 7 attacks from the Terminids, so we can expect an increase in activity on the bug front over the coming weeks.
