August 7th, 2024 – Everything You Need to Know About The 2XKO Alpha Playtest

The 2XKO Alpha Playtest is just around the corner, and Riot has released some helpful information about what players can expect when 2XKO goes live.

2XKO Lobbies – Casual Matches

To enter a public lobby in 2XKO, select “FIGHT!” and then choose “Casual Mode”. If you have friends with you, party up before you enter a public lobby. The fastest way to que for a game is by pressing the “Find a Match” button. One of the cabinets in the lobby will highlight when a match has been found. Simply go over to the highlighted cabinet and accept the match to begin your fight.

You can also challenge other players who are in the room by sitting at any empty seat, or finding one with a player waiting.

2XKO Lobbies – Private Matches

Create a private match with up to 16 players from your friend list. Select “Private Mode” to setup your own personal lobby.

Customize Your Avatar

Riot is introducing Avatars in 2XKO, a way to personalize how you appear in 2XKO lobbies. Unlock new customizations for your avatar with battle pass progress.

Chromas

Chromas are alternate colors for your champions / skins. Similar to chromas in League of Legends, these will allow you help distinguish your team from your challenger. To unlock all the base champion chromas, navigate to Champions in the main menu > select a champion > highlight the Skins option.

During the 2XKO Alpha Lab playtest, Chromas will be unlockable for 100 credits.

Stages

Players will have access to 4 stages in the Alpha Lab playtest:

Bridge of Progress

Spirit Hills

The Brazen Hydra

The booth will feature the playable game demo, merch giveaways, and a live broadcast brought to you in partnership with Tampa Never Sleeps. During Evo 2024, we’ll be streaming on the 2XKO Twitch channel with a variety of 2XKO devs and FGC creators.

  • For the playable demo, you’ll be able to choose from three types of controllers: fight sticks, gamepads, and Razer Kitsune leverless controllers.

Our booth will be staffed almost entirely by members of the 2XKO dev team. We’d love to help teach the game and hear your feedback, so don’t be afraid to come up and chat with us.

Lastly, be sure to complete the survey at the booth if you’re interested in playtesting at home. Evo attendees can get priority Alpha Lab access. Not going to Evo and still want to participate in the upcoming Alpha Lab playtest? Sign up here
